Have you ever been cussed out by a 1 year old???

This is the response I got after giving Brooklyn a "consequence" for standing up in the tub.

Gag Reflex

My mom, my sister and I have had many a laugh listening to Curt change Brooklyn's diaper. He has a VERY sensitive gag reflex. Well, I guess Brooklyn has inherited that from him. The following video is not for the weak. I tried to give her some mashed potatoes with veggies mixed in and this was the result....

**Warning: The following video is very graphic, viewer discretion is advised**

Finally walking...

Brooklyn has finally mastered walking. As with crawling, it took her a couple months to practice. I kept saying "oh look, she took 20 steps, she'll really start now." But sure enough she wouldn't walk at all the next day. Tuesday night we were all at Auntie Shanna's house and I look over and hear Kate saying, "come on Book-a-lyn, you can do it." And there she was, walking across the room like she'd been doing it for weeks. I guess it took someone who could speak her language to really show her the ropes. It's probably the first of many things that big cousin Kate will teach her. I'd say now she's doing about 50% walking and 50% crawling. She's very proud of herself:)

Loud Mouth

I wanted to document a little piece of what every day is like for me at home with Brooklyn. She doesn't stop "talking!" At times I feel like pulling out my hair. Then I remind myself of how blessed I am to have such a happy baby. The video is a SMALL example of what she does pretty much all day long. At this time she is watching Curt mow the lawn. Since he's been fixing up the yard all I have to do it say "Brooklyn, where's daddy?" and she goes straight to the back window and calls him. It's really pretty cute.

Palm Desert

Last week we went to Palm Desert and stayed in the Jacob's condo. We had a blast. Curt had some work to do around the condo changing all the plugs and switches. He finished pretty fast with the help of Brooklyn.

Once he was done we enjoyed riding around on their golf cart and relaxing at the pool.

Brooklyn loved the water. Her favorite thing to do was to just lay back and relax on her floaty thing. She thought sitting in it the correct way was over rated.

At the end of the week our good friends the Van Duyns came to stay a night. Their son Wyatt is a week older than Brook. They're still a little young to play together and Wyatt is a little scared of Brooklyn. But they do enjoy following each other around.

Girly Girl

Brooklyn is such a girl already! She'll talk on anything that she can hold in one hand and pretend it's a phone. It's so cute to watch her have a full on "conversation" complete with the nodding of the head, the fluctuations in her voice and setting it down when she's all done. I love it!

It was hard to capture a good "conversation" on video. This was the best we got.
