First Swim Lesson

Today was Brooklyn's first swim lesson. I was really nervous about how she would do. She LOVES the water but I wasn't sure she'd be hip with swimming with a stranger. Last week we took her to watch her cousins so I think that might have helped. As soon as Scott came to introduce himself and warn us about crying and separation anxiety she stepped up to the side of the pool and reached for him. She just couldn't wait to get in that water!
I was SO proud of her. Hopefully the next lessons will be just as successful:)

She even did good lying on her back. She was a little tense, but that's to be expected. She had no trouble when he dunked her under the water. She did really good at holding her breath.

When she spotted me at the end of the pool I could tell she was done. Her little lip came out and I could tell she was trying not to cry.

Obama in my back yard...

So I heard that Air Force One was supposed to be landing in LB airport around 3 and I thought I'd hang out outside to try to capture a shot. I didn't think it would happen but it did. I was very excited! Even though I'm not the hugest fan of President Obama it was still cool to see. A few minutes later about 6 or so helicopters flew by. That was also pretty cool. Now one day I can tell Brook that we got to see our President fly over our house!!

St. Patrick's Day

This St. Patrick's Day we went over to the Jacobs' to celebrate in true Irish style. We had corn-beef sandwiches and a baked potato bar. Yummy! The Reeves' and the Ireland's were there also. We attempted a kiddo group shot but Brook and Luke had nothing to do with it. Brooklyn was in rare form that day and it was hard to capture a good shot of her without her crying. I managed to get a couple.

The kids had a great time playing outside. Brook took Kensington for a ride!

I found Brook a last minute shirt to wear.

She looked so cute in her little pigtails!

Mommy stopped feeding into her whining so she went to the nearest sucker.

Speechless

There are no words...

Tom's Farms

Last Sunday we ditched church (Brook had a case of the "scoots") and went to Tom's Farms with the Van Duyn's. We had a great time!

Brook loved the little petting zoo. She had absolutely no fear and wanted to pick up the baby goats. She especially liked the little black ones.

Here are the kiddo's planning on how they were going to conquer the roosters.

They had the cutest train there.

And of course the carousel was a hit.

Glamis - March 2009

Last weekend we went to Glamis for the 3rd time with Brooklyn. We planned the trip with Curt's parents and the Petteys'. I guess it was a good weekend to go because the group turned out to be the largest we've ever camped with. I didn't know more then half the people. It was by far the most fun we've had with her there. I think she really liked it. Curt was so happy that she enjoyed just hanging out, playing in the sand, and riding in the Rhino. For those of you who have no idea what Glamis is, I provided a link for more info.

Here she is on her first Rhino ride. Her daddy has high expectations that she'll be riding her own quad in no time. We shall see....

Here's Brook with her friend Kayla. They loved each other:)

She loved it that Maddie and Sophie (Grammy & Papa's doggie) were able to come.

Here are all the guys (and a couple of girls) getting ready for a ride. You can see everyone just waiting in the middle. It's quite a site.

If you look past the RV's at the dunes you can see everyone riding.

Here's Brook helping us pack to go home:)

It was a great trip and we can't wait to go back next season!

Freak

Brooklyn has earned herself the nickname "freak" by her loving Auntie Shanna. Here is an example of why....today she insisted on playing outside in only a diaper and helmet.

P.S. For all of you who are thinking, "I bet Brenna made her wear that helmet." I did not!
